The purchases of Saudis and residents, through points of sale, have witnessed a growing demand in recent years, in light of the rise in the commercial mobility in Saudi Arabia, and the permanent endeavors to boost electronic payment and reduce the cache.

A statistic revealed to (Namazone), based on SAMA data, that the total value of purchases through points of sale in Saudi Arabia amounted to about 1.96 trillion riyals since the year 1993 m.

These purchases came through about 6.2 billion transactions across points of sale, through about 438.6 thousand devices, divided into regions of the Kingdom.

POS transactions represent what consumers spend on ATM cards and credit cards at major malls, retail stores, etc.

Total purchases during the fourth quarter of 2019 were about 79 billion riyals, compared to about 69.7 billion riyals in the same quarter of 2018.
